Effective date: 2026-08-07
This Privacy Policy explains how teasertrack (“we”, “us”, or “our”) approaches privacy for visitors of this website. teasertrack is a free, non-commercial movie discovery project. We do not sell subscriptions, we do not run an advertising network, and we do not create user accounts. Our goal is to help people browse trailers, cast information, genres, and recommendations while keeping the product simple and respectful of privacy.
1. Our privacy principles
We designed teasertrack around a few core principles. First, discovery should not require registration. Second, we should avoid building personal profiles of visitors. Third, when we must process technical data to keep the site online, we should keep that processing limited to what hosting and security require. Fourth, movie metadata belongs to third parties such as TMDB and the original rights holders; we display that information for discovery and do not claim ownership of it.
These principles guide every feature on the site: browsing catalogs, opening movie pages, searching titles, and using optional suggestion tools. If a feature would require creating accounts, storing watch history against your identity, or selling behavioral data, we simply do not build that feature.
2. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to anyone who visits teasertrack websites, including production domains, preview deployments, and local development copies used by maintainers. It covers browsing public pages, submitting search queries, and using optional suggestion forms. It does not cover third-party websites you may visit after leaving teasertrack, such as TMDB, IMDb, JustWatch, YouTube, or streaming services listed in watch-provider data.
3. Information we do not collect by design
teasertrack does not offer account registration, login, passwords, profiles, watchlists, favorites tied to an identity, payment forms, or newsletter signup systems operated by us. Because those systems do not exist, we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, government IDs, payment card numbers, or account credentials through teasertrack itself.
We also do not intentionally operate first-party advertising pixels, remarketing tags, or cross-site behavioral advertising tools. We do not sell personal information. We do not create marketing audiences from browsing activity on teasertrack.
4. Information processed to operate the website
Like nearly every website on the internet, teasertrack is delivered through hosting infrastructure. That infrastructure may automatically process technical request data such as IP address, approximate geography derived by the host, date and time of the request, requested URL, referring URL, user-agent string, and basic diagnostic information needed to keep the service secure and reliable. This processing is performed by our hosting provider as part of normal web delivery and abuse prevention.
We do not use that operational telemetry to build a personal movie-taste profile about you. We do not combine it with offline identity data. We do not use it to decide advertising prices. If logs are retained by the host, retention follows the host’s platform defaults and security needs.
4.1 Search and suggestion inputs
If you type a search query or a suggestion prompt, that text is sent to our server endpoints so we can fulfill the request. Search queries are used to ask TMDB for matching titles. Suggestion prompts may be sent to an optional suggestion model provider and then matched against TMDB title search results. These inputs are processed to return results for your current session request. We do not turn them into permanent public user profiles on teasertrack.
Please avoid entering sensitive personal data into search or suggestion fields. Those fields are intended for movie-related requests such as titles, genres, moods, and similar-film descriptions.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
teasertrack does not use first-party advertising cookies or account cookies. We do load Google Analytics (Google tag / gtag.js) to understand aggregated traffic such as page views and popular routes. Google may set or read cookies and process device and usage data under Google's own policies. You can block analytics scripts or cookies through browser settings or extensions. Blocking them will not prevent you from browsing movie pages on teasertrack.
Your browser, network path, or hosting platform may still use essential technical cookies or local storage for security, load balancing, bot protection, or basic site operation.
6. Third-party services and data controllers
teasertrack displays movie-related information retrieved from The Movie Database (TMDB) API. That information can include titles, overviews, posters, backdrops, cast and crew credits, ratings, release dates, keywords, videos, collection membership, and watch-provider availability. TMDB and its partners remain responsible for the underlying metadata and for their own privacy practices. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Trailer playback may embed players from YouTube or other video hosts. Watch-provider links or partner deep links may send you to third-party services. When you interact with those embeds or leave teasertrack, the third party’s privacy policy applies. We do not control how those services process your data after you arrive there.
If an optional suggestion feature is enabled on the server, prompts may be processed by a third-party model provider solely to generate movie title ideas for that request. We do not use that channel to sell your identity.
We use Google Analytics to measure site usage. Google is an independent service provider; see Google's privacy documentation for how Analytics processes measurement data.
7. Children’s privacy
teasertrack is a general audience movie discovery website. TMDB data may include titles intended for mature audiences and titles flagged as adult by upstream providers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for account creation because we do not offer accounts. Parents and guardians should supervise browsing by minors and use device-level controls where appropriate.
8. International visitors and hosting locations
teasertrack may be hosted on global infrastructure. That means technical request data can be processed in data centers outside your country as part of content delivery and application hosting. By using the site, you understand that internet services often transfer technical data across borders to respond to your request quickly and securely.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate for a free informational website, including relying on reputable hosting, HTTPS transport where configured by the platform, and keeping secret API credentials on the server rather than exposing them in public client bundles. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the internet at your own risk.
Because we do not store user accounts or watchlists, a large class of account-takeover risks simply does not apply to teasertrack. The main remaining risks are ordinary website risks: service interruption, third-party outages, and malicious traffic.
10. Data retention
We do not operate a teasertrack user database of profiles. Operational logs and platform analytics, if any are provided by the host by default, are retained according to the hosting provider’s systems. Movie catalog pages are generated from TMDB responses and may be cached temporarily to improve performance and reduce upstream API load.
11. Your choices and requests
You can stop using teasertrack at any time. You can clear browser cookies and cache. You can use browser private mode. Because we do not maintain user accounts, there is no in-product account deletion flow. If you believe a hosting log or security event requires attention, you may contact the site operator through any contact method published on the About page when available.
For corrections to movie metadata, artwork, cast credits, or ratings, please use TMDB’s own channels. teasertrack displays upstream data and is not the source of truth for that content.
12. Do Not Track and similar signals
Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” signals. There is no consistent industry standard for responding to those signals across all websites. teasertrack already avoids account-based tracking and first-party ad profiling. Aggregate Google Analytics measurement and essential hosting or security processing may still occur.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves, as hosting providers change defaults, or as legal expectations change. When we update it, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of teasertrack after an update means you accept the revised policy.
14. Relationship to other legal pages
This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use and About page. The About page explains that teasertrack is free and non-commercial. The Terms explain limitations of liability and third-party data ownership. If there is a conflict about privacy practices, this Privacy Policy is intended to describe privacy-specific behavior.
15. Summary in plain language
teasertrack is a free movie browsing site. We do not ask you to create an account. We do not sell your data. We show movie information from TMDB and related partners. Your browser and our host may process ordinary technical request data so the site can load. Search and suggestion boxes should be used for movie questions, not sensitive personal secrets. For movie data disputes, talk to TMDB or the rights holder. For how teasertrack itself is meant to work, this page is the guide.
